How and Why I Read

How and Why I Read

I burn through books
     Like Sherman burned the South,
          The bastard,
An all consuming blaze
     That sucks up words
Like oxygen to fuel the flame.

 Kids,
      Take a hint,
Read everything you can get
      Your grubby mitts on,
'Cuz once it's in your head
       It's yours,
And no one can take it away.
